Searching by performer name
Searching by name fails more often than searching by code, and almost always for the same three reasons.
1. Name order
Japanese names are written family name first in Japanese, and are often flipped to given name first in English. Both orders circulate, including on the same site.

These are the same person. If a search returns nothing, reverse the order and try again. This one habit solves most failed name searches.
2. Romanisation
Japanese can be written in Latin letters more than one way, and stores are not consistent:
- Long vowels may be doubled, extended with a
u/o, marked with a macron, or simply dropped:Yūka/Yuuka/Yuka shi/si,tsu/tu,ji/ziall appear- Spacing and hyphenation of given names varies
If a spelling returns nothing, try the plainest form — no macrons, no doubled vowels.
3. Stage names change
Performers work under stage names, and those names sometimes change between labels or over a career. A name that returns results on one site may return nothing on another simply because a different name is in use there. When that happens, searching a known work’s code and reading the performer credit on the product page is the reliable way back.
